About this item

An urli bowl ringed with diya-shaped holders. Fill the centre with water and float flowers or petals, then set tealights or small oil diyas in the holders around the rim, so the flowers sit inside a ring of light. Set of 2: you receive two urlis of the size you choose. Material: iron, gold finish. Sizes: 7, 10, 12 and 14 inch across (approx. 18, 25, 30 and 36 cm). Which size? 7 inch: compact enough for a puja shelf, side table or window ledge; the pair can flank the mandir or a doorway. 10 inch: suits a coffee table, console or the puja room floor. 12 inch: a centre-table piece that reads clearly across a room, and works well at the entrance. 14 inch: the largest, a statement piece for the entrance, a centre table or the middle of a rangoli. Use it for Diwali, Navratri, Lakshmi puja, griha pravesh and weddings, or keep it out all year in the puja room or living room. In Vastu, a water-filled urli near the main entrance is considered auspicious. It also makes a ready Diwali or housewarming gift. Care: empty the water after use and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive scrubs and harsh cleaners. Flowers, candles, tealights and oil are not included. Also spelt uruli or udli.
